The fall is dedicated to creation of end-user applications based on modules and libraries prepared during 2006.

Updated ACPI drivers

As you know, eComStation has modern ACPI subsystem now. ACPI offers new opportunities to developers and makes developers update their device drivers.

Usually users need two auxiliary drivers:

APM.ADD 1.5 (requires ACPI 2.12) - Power management for notebooks and desktops

• fixed throttling (for SMP only), fixed semaphore event, fixed power detect
• AcpiDaemon is improved
• Read tester.doc to test the driver; read troubleshooting.doc to solve troubles

ACPI snooper (requires ACPI 2.12)

• The snooper is aimed to manage IRQs, setup ACPI virtual machine on start.
• Read tester.doc to test the driver; read troubleshooting.doc to solve troubles
• Don't remove all snoopers from snoop.lst (keep acpisnp.snp and ibmkbd.snp) else Enable full hardware detect is ignored.

Note: If you are developing a program to control UPS devices, you can integrate it into eComStation power management subsystem.

New versions of eSchemes

New beta-versions of eSchemes are released often. Current version: 1.35

• Whatsnew: improved editor of schemes. Read the overview of editor again;
• eSchemes FAQ contains 26 records now;
• eSchemes is available from eComStation beta-zone;
• Don't laze to change schemes, visit the collection of schemes;

New product! eSchemes Deluxe

• eSchemes Deluxe is a set of WPS classes which simplify navigation over eComStation desktop. First version introduces WPImageFileEx (images preview) and WPObjectEx (information about object) WPS classes and MMImagePak (set of MMOS2 I/O Procedures)

• eSchemes Deluxe is a separate project, support WPS developers and they will bring life to our OS.

Internet utilities

• GNU utilities
  • General network utilities is a set of utilities to setup TCP/IP, view statistics, diagnose problems.
  • Firewall ports setup uses other method to query Firewall state.
  • all utilities are equiped with Help
• PM Downloader v0.9.7
  • Fixed intensive downloads list "blinking" and CPU load if items in "waiting" state present in list.
  • Fixed handling of 'no such file' FTP error.
  • Fixed - 'Incomplete' directories was created in every individual download path.
  • Updated Swedish translation.

Disk utilities

• Please, don't use JFS filesystem with old harddisks. New bad sectors may cause loss of data;
• Use UPS to protect against power leaps;
• Don't fill JFS volume completely. Always keep freespace (10% of total volume size);

If you don't follow this simple instructions then purchase JUne - utility to rescue/undelete data from JFS volumes.

Office applications

Personal Cards Manager, new beta-version - it's not only address book but the only application to bring photos of your friends and relatives to desktop.

• We don't use database anymore.
• You can copy e-mails from preview window to clipboard.
• Post questions to the PCM forum

Students support

To create unique technologies and software, we should attract more students and engineers to eComStation.

• gDiagramm v0.07 builds graphs from CVS-file (2Gb, 50 millions of lines)
• Do you have self-made applications for students (computer science, mathematical, chemical)? We are interested gather this files.

eCo Software support service

• Hardware database contains more than 950 records now. Currently we are gathering reports about Multicore - multiprocessor computers (Core Duo notebooks and motherboards for Dual Core desktops)

Collaboration with other developers

• Robert Lalla created very useful addon to ACPI snooper. His driver removes Exclusive flag from High IRQs. In result, we have more happy users with working SMP notebooks and desktops.
• Dmitry Frolov continues to release USBCALLS updates. Visit the homepage of froloff.
• Do you need widescreen modes on ATI X1600 videoadapter? Robert Lalla created a driver to activate this modes. Contact us and join the testing!
