Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3PMark: Average (the report is combined by ecomstation.ru) I found a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P motherboard with everything and ordered it. This board supports fast DDR3 memory and multi-core AM3 socketed AMD processors, but does not have built-in graphics like the ASUS board did. I was very surprised at how well the Gigabyte board works with OS/2. The BIOS is an Award BIOS rather than the American Megatrends BIOS in the ASUS boards and it as much nicer menus, better options (such as many more boot options for USB devices), BIOS-based alarms for hardware monitoring (nice for OS/2 which doesn't have any PM-based hardware monitoring apps anymore) and, best of all, much faster booting with OS/2. Not sure why this is since both the Gigabyte and the ASUS use similar AMD-based chipsets for the southbridge/disk controller. The final bonus is that the DDR3 memory provides a noticeable performance boost for OS/2 over the DDR2 memory in the ASUS motherboard...which I didn't expect. Bottom line is that I've become a Gigabyte motherboard fan.
