eComStation beta3 installation

  • eComStation/2.0beta3
  • Install it on other PC with SATA then copy system to Turtle
  • boot partition: JFS
  • BIOS Setup: Main -> IDE Configuration -> SATA Configuration -> Compatible
  • Danis506 released in december 2006 (else CD-ROM is not visible)
  • ACPI 2.16 installation was no problem. The Computer works fine in APIC mode: psd=acpi.psd /SMP /NOD /R

1. We are trying to run eComStation 2.0 RC2 operating system (OS) on the following hardware:

1.1. MOTHERBOARD (MB): ASUS P5B

1.2. MB CHIPSET: Northbridge: Intel P965 with Intel Fast Memory Access; Southbridge: Intel 1CH8.

1.3. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo, E4400 - 2GHz.

1.4. DRIVES: SATA, 320 GB, Western Digital.

2. We were able to install the OS successfully.

3. Unfortunately, the OS crashes when we try to do simple operations. The mouse locks up and the system does not respond to Ctrl+Alt+Delete. We have to restart the machine after turning off the power. This happens repeatedly. It happens whether bootable JFS or HPFS is used to format the drives before installing the OS. SMP was not enabled.

4. Would it be possible for you to provide a solution to the above problem?

I think there is a problem with AMOUSE

Please modify your config.sys

DEVICE=N:\OS2\BOOT\MOUSE.SYS
