Samsung Story Station (USB 2.0)
Mark: Average (This report is prepared by ecomstation.ru scout), source of information: Doug Bissett
When I got my Samsung Story Station (USB 2.0), with 1 TB drive, It was formatted as NTFS (naturally). After I saved the contents (the tools), I booted to eCS . Then, I used DFSEE to wipe the first part of the disk (about 1 minute). I then used MiniLVM (AKA Maintenance and Installation Volume Manager) to build the desired volumes (300 GB for NTFS, and 700 GB for JFS), and give the 700 GB volume an address (I:). Then, I did "FORMAT I: FS:JFS" That did a quick format of the 700 GB volume (about 2 minutes). Then, I rebooted to windows (XP, in my case), and formatted the 300 GB volume as NTFS. I also used the windows facility to remove it's drive letter from the JFS volume (otherwise windows will demand that you format the partition, every time you mount it in windows).
